Another beautiful day at Ahern – not too warm in the woods and pleasant breeze at the start / finish right by the beach. Some mosquitoes in the woods to encourage continual movement. Competitors came from all over for this event – closest was 2 miles away, a visitor from North Carolina, some Canadians from just over the border in Quebec, 2 families from Alaska, and a family from Sala, Sweden. A lot of runners on White and Yellow. The Orange course was on the more challenging end of the spectrum, but folks took it in stride. The Brown/Forest Sprint and the Green/ Middle style spent a lot of time in the very complex central part of the map, with the numerous mountain bike trails not providing a lot of help in getting from one control to the next.
Many thanks to Paul Regan for vetting, registration, and control pick up, Pete Bundschuh and Faye Doria for helping with registration, instruction and control pick and Steve Tarry for control pick up.
